Flubber is a gooey substance on the hand flows like a cream if you treat it gently, but breaks apart if you put more force on it. Kids love to play with it, and it is relatively easy to make, so is a great favorite at science fairs.
Ingredients
* 1 1/4 cup warm water
* 1 cup white glue (like Elmer's)
* 2 Tablespoons of Borax
* Food coloring (optional)
Ingredients
* 1 1/4 cup warm water
* 1 cup white glue (like Elmer's)
* 2 Tablespoons of Borax
* Food coloring (optional)
Steps
1. Make a mixture of 3/4 Cup of the water and the glue (as well as a few drops of food coloring if you like).
2. Make a second mixture of Borax in the rest of the water (1/2 cup).
3. Put the two mixtures together, preferably in a sealable plastic bag. Knead for a few minutes and presto.
Tips
* If there is some excess water, it will evaporate by itself over time.
* The stuff stays OK for about three weeks.
* Borax is in fact toxic. Do not ingest. Supervise children while making!
